running out of gas

This afternoon the weather was actually pleasant, you know, when it hits the 50 degree mark. So Colby decided to pull out the boys bicycles. After a trip to Wal-Mart (I did not go, you know how I feel about our Wal-Mart) for new bike tubes, they were good to go. Blue got his first bicycle with training wheels for Christmas and this is the first time he has tried to ride outside (he has scooted around on it inside the house for the last two months). Teaching Blue how to peddle on his bike has been more difficult than I thought. We give him a good push and tell him to start pedalling in a circle because at first he was just pushing his feet back and forth and kept hitting the brakes every other push. So once we established the circle motion, he was having trouble keeping the momentum going. He kept claiming that his bike was running out of gas. He always is quick to find a good excuse not to strain himself too much, and apparently riding a bike is no different.

Hilarious! Don't you love the days that get up into the 40s and 50s? It's nice to start going outside again!
